Unrealistic as the hypothetical was, I did TRY to put man and woman on equal footing. You know, it's quite possible that the guy is a charming hunk and the woman is (although healthy) uglier than sin, smelly and a super bitch). As I stated originally, maybe the guy doesn't want to do it. I think Blue, and, perhaps someone else, said, why should we try to attain the goal if we must so compromise or debase our nature (forgive me if I have missed the point -- did not go back and read the posts a second time). I think this overlooks the concept of sacrifice that is often so necessary for achievement. Who would argue that the defeat of Hitler's war machine was a worthy accomplishment? Who would argue that the Private Ryan's of the world thought it in their personal interest to spend a day at the beach? All in all, discussion of this subject illustrates the difficulty of understanding between people and groups with disparate interests and fears. Perhaps Rodney King was wrong -- maybe we can't just get along. Presented with sincere respect for all points of view.
