re: who had those shares to trade and didn't require a larger premium for them with all the buying going on?

75% of the 95 million trades was institutional trades based of the pie chart from this site. partners.thomsoninvest.net (type in Dell). This has been consistent on up days and down days. Other stocks where % institutional ownership has not been dropping, the % institutional trades is much lower. Someone like WBM has reputable inside knowledge on how these guys think and how quickly they change their price points, but my guess is that they were selling on old price targets, still lightening up on their ownership in Dell/ Box-PC sector.

Some funds are more knowledgeable / favorable to PC's and Dell and were buying from these slower institutions.

Any authoritative insight contrary or otherwise on what was going on would be very much appreciated. TIA
cheers
Mike
