That chemical reactions could go on in chemical soups and chemical pizzas to produce ever more complex compounds, even in the absence of sunlight, is not surprising because some chemical reactions do produce energy which could drive other reactions and so on.

But what the exuberant scientists seem to have forgotten is the requirement for "CONSCIOUSNESS" to be present to actuate and maintain the activities of LIFE! In the absence of CONSCIOUSNESS, life would be stillborn! CONSCIOUSNESS may be seemingly absent in the lower life forms, but it is present nevertheless.

Let me illustrate with an example. Soon after "Dolly" the sheep was cloned in a 'mother' sheep's womb, in Scotland, some USA biologists attempted to clone a sheep in an artificial womb. All the required nutrients were provided over the period of gestation and the embryo gradually evolved into a lamb. But that lamb became stillborn. It had no CONSCIOUSNESS and it remained LIFELESS! It would seem that some intangible VITAL LIFE FORCE is absolutely essential for life's processes to be actuated and maintained.

As the so called VITAL LIFE FORCE is an invisible and intangible thing, arrogant and exuberant scientists will most likely pooh-pooh and ignore it. But, if they do, they are missing a vital piece of the puzzle, in my humble opinion.

There was a Hindu joke about several of the Top Gods in the Hindu Pantheon bickering among themselves as to who was truly #1. The bickering continued on and on until that entity called PRANA (or Vital Life Force) reminded them all that if it were not for him (PRANA) the gods themselves would not have been able to BREATHE!
