Since I am not saying that there is no reason for concern in any instance, I am not sure what we are arguing about at this point. Many scientists also argue that nature is pretty resilient--- do we want to start tossing experts at one another again on this or that issue? In any case, I am not sure that you have gotten the point. Ecology frets over human interference with natural areas, period. However pretty the flowers, gardens are generally highly artificial impositions on the landscape, as are farmland and parks, and they generally thrive. In fact, the main reason for "fussing" with them is to keep them from becoming overgrown, not to keep them alive....Of course quantity has a great deal to do with whether or not organic waste is harmful, I just didn't detail every possible factor...Finally, I do not have in mind the Amazon rain forest, but the "environmental impact statements" that surround so many projects nowadays. I thought the scale was clear enough, but perhaps not....
