TULSA, Okla., Aug 19, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE via COMTEX) -- Heartsoft, Inc. (OTC BB:HTSF) confirmed today that the company's new secure Internet browser will offer its young users on-line content and services from leading web-based information services.
Confirming comments made to media, the company's management acknowledged that it has been in discussions for several months with leading publishers regarding co-branding of certain on-line resources for children.
"Children world-wide will not only enjoy an exciting and entertaining on-line experience every time they connect to the Internet using our new browser, they will also have instantaneous access to information from top children's content providers," stated Heartsoft CEO, Benjamin Shell.
"Our goal is to produce a product which, simply stated, will become the standard for parents and educators when affording access to the Internet for their children. In order to reach this goal, our new browser must provide the most engaging and interactive environment on-line for young Internet users."
"Anticipation for the browser's release is mounting among anxious parents and educators," said Shell. "We have been careful to only release information about the product's capability and very little about its actual look and feel for obvious competitive reasons."
"While a ship date for the new browser has been set internally, we will not announce an actual release date until just prior to the product's actual introduction. We do promise that the release of our secure children's browser will be proceeded by a significant Internet-based marketing campaign which will reveal the product's name and web-site with glimpses into its interface. If you have access to the Internet, you will have a hard time missing the pre-release!"
The new browser will be available for both the home and the school and will operate on both Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows 95/98(R) and Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iMac(R) and Macintosh(R) platforms. Heartsoft's much anticipated secure browser offers parents and educators a secure and safe alternative to Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Netscape's (NYSE: AOL) Navigator Internet browsers.
Heartsoft's support of Microsoft Windows 98 significantly expands the company's ability to support hardware manufacturers such as Dell Computer Corp. (Nasdaq: DELL), Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE: CPQ), and Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HWP), which represent the most widely used platforms in schools and by parents.
