Repap shareholders like myself have lost alot of money since Dec.18, 1996. I would like to know if we can sue either Repap or Avenor for this lost of value. The proxy that we received in January contained opinions from Salomon Brothers Inc. stating that the deal was fair for Avenor shareholders. I beleived the information in the Proxy and thus hung onto the shares. When the terms changed in March, our share values were down over 40%. Repap actions in the last three months have been guided by Avenor and out share price continued to dwindle. I have lost over $70k since December, had I been supplied with proper information I would have sold my shares back in December and cut my losses. If Bre-X shareholders can sue why can't we?
