Thu 19 Aug 99 News Release
Mr. Frank Stama reports
The first products from China for the E-China project have arrived. The
products are freshwater pearls that have passed the quality assurance
process. They are a wonderful example of the best Chinese freshwater pearls
available in the world. The largest set of pearls are eight and one-half
millimetre in size, creamy white in colour, excellent luster, almost
perfectly round and well matched. As soon as the pearls are strung, clasped
and photographed, they will be available for sale at Oriole's E-China Web
site, www.mymart.net, under the necklace product category. MyMart.net
currently showcases a limited set of custom jewellery.
Oriole has recruited a U.S. jeweller to appraise all retail products for
quality and price for its customers. This is part of Oriole's product
satisfaction and guarantee program. The MyMart jeweller is a member of the
Jeweller Association and a gemologist certified by the Gemologist Institute
of America. MyMart.net also plans to provide a full range of services
normally obtained through a community jeweller. This would include services
such as custom design, setting stones, appraisals, repairs and
certification of authenticity.
Frank Stama, chief executive officer of OrioleSystems.com says, "We expect
to offer quality products from the Far East accessible to a worldwide
audience at the best prices available along with superb service and
support."
Oriole's e-commerce Web site www.mymart.net was launched on July 26, 1999,
on servers in Canada and the United States (news in Stockwatch July 27,
Aug. 9, 1999), with potential revenues of $36.5-million over two years
(news in Stockwatch June 15, 1999). MyMart.net will begin to showcase a
selection of high-quality products from China, starting with pearl
necklaces followed by a large complement of other high-quality products. In
addition, Oriole plans to expand its business to bring a full range of
consumer products from other countries to the global Internet e-commerce
market.
