Just received this e-mail from Sue Kalweit - the NIMA rep and co-chair on the OGC-IPT - counterpart to Kurt Buehler - see at
opengis.org I asked her about Sedona Geo.- their products and significance in the GIS industry.

Mike - Hi! I'm sorry but right now I can't help you out as we are in the
middle of a source selection for GII technologies, and it's inappropriate
for me to talk about what you're asking for. After we've awarded (late
April), I'd be happy to share some information with you. OK? Thanks.

At any rate - I started researching GII stuff at the nima.mil site and started downloading some of the stuff she is referring to. Lo and behold - even though the name Sedona is not there - the entire proposal for submissions (GII97)sounds like it was tailor made for (or by) Sedona GeoServices. I think George Gray is a co-chairman of one of those sub-committees in the OGC-IPT. No idea of how big the money is at this stage - but from what Kurt told me earlier today - this marks the beginning

There are finally some more names - (inquiries about submissions) - that I can follow up on. At least I am beginning to feel I am finding the ball park - if not the right dugout quite yet!! Will definitely be following up with Sue K. at end of April. Hope we're in the news.

PS - correction on that earlier site I mentioned which shows the significant growth and interest in maps - on the net anyway -
