Forgive me for I have sinned, trading 9984 as I did INTC, MSFT and AMGN at one time. I was not able to buy back 9984 night before last night as trade stopped limit up early in the game (lucky I did not touch my wife's holdings), and so I bought SOFI warrant instead night before last and bought 9984 shares last night - my entire previously traded position (60% of total 9984 holdings) - the round trip probably cost me a sports car of some sort - lucky the proceeds from my original sale was kept in Yen cash, else another haircut on exchange rate. No regrets, no tears, I admit my mistake and we move on. In the mean time, my Yahoo straddle position is coming along fine, in some way ameliorating the bad effects of adventure in 9984.
I have also changed some cash to Yen, just in case Yen rises and 9984 tanks.
In preparing for Christmas, I am considering EGRP purchase or puts today given their Instinet deal, the significance have not sunk in yet.
The MorganStanley inclusion of 9984 will get the train out of the yard.
I need to remind myself, due to the time lag and my constant and disorienting travels, that things are just beginning to heat up in Asia.
I have also loaded up again or increased holdings on EMC, CMCSK, CSCO, ATHM, AOL, FDX - it will be Christmas again soon; and sold more puts on NEM as a meaningless but none the less comforting hedge. |
