It doesn't sound too encouraging that the lawyer didn't know much about the company -- they're always on the lookout for good investments, and they have the money to burn, too. As far as having a patent attorney on hand, I've worked for a number of startup companies, and the guys who start these things have swollen heads; they go after every patent the investors are willing to pay for (do you have any choice?) -- it makes them feel good, and swells their heads even further. If they don't have a company at the end, then at least they have a lot of patents on the wall. The lawyer makes money no matter what.

As far as the insider trading which was deemed OK because it (the stock) was gifted, I wouldn't doubt that the receiver of the gift sold it right away. Oh, and by the way, the previous investor relations person who "left" (as well as all of the other employees who "left" for other "opportunities"), was actually probably layed off to conserve money so the owners can try to milk everything they can get out of the company and the investors.

In case you're getting sick of my negative attitude, my only intention is to calibrate you guys -- you're too positive. For every one of these things that make it, ten go under. Personally I hope it doesn't because I have several thousand shares, but I really don't care that much.

Has anybody ever bothered to ask what the progress payments are, and when they are paid? I know people who take better care of their money when buying a new car.
