Indian beer, wine & spirits -Tastes like crap but gets the job done<vbg>

Personally I don't care too much for Indian spirits (brandy, whiskey and such) and beer, they taste like crap but I do drink them when I am there, one thing for sure though it gets the job done.Of course I haven't tasted all of them but the whiskey and brandy made my McDowells and Shaw-Wallace tastes like hospital alcohol and the beer Kingfisher etc has a bitter after taste which I don't care for. I rather drink our local brew in Kerala called 'Toddy' which is extracted from coconut trees,no chemicals or nothing all natural,I think you can get them in Goa or any other states where there are plenty of coconut palms.

You can get imported liquor in most 5-star hotels and fancy restaurants but they are expensive. I think you can get Foster beer from Australia in Bombay and may be in other big cities.

I think alcoholic beverages are available in most states with the exception of Andra Pradesh which I think is a 'dry' state, I don't know of any other state that may be 'dry'.

I think one is allowed to take a reasonable quantity of the stuff with them when they go there.

Here are some of the Indian companies who makes spirits, wine and beer.
