Congratulations on finally discovering Lee from the eclipse data. I was waiting for someone besides myself to post that before reentering the thread since the discussion here seemed to go a little off-topic.

FWIW, all these images (CNN, Discovery, etc.) are from the NASA camera in Turkey. I watched the eclipse on a live BBC webcast and their own camera (in an aircraft) showed the orientation of these objects to be different from what the NASA film shows. Two luminous objects were briefly displayed when the camera panned-back from the totality but they were at the lower-left of the eclipse. This is right where Lee should have been during a morning observation. Coincidentally, the CNN pictures from Turkey were taken later-on. It was afternoon local time so an upper-right orientation would in fact be correct for a p.m. observation. I don't think Hoagland has taken into account the p.m. viewing perspective of the NASA photos because the area does not correspond with the Taurid stream (as he suspects) but with comet Lee.

As for the "NASA programmer" I recommend re-playing the archived Art Bell interview as the man is clearly distraught and attempting to dismiss his 'adventure'. He either has a very mean wife or he knows something the general public doesn't. The "people at work were talking of a meteor shower" and the '9-year debris stream' from Lee are two bits of information which have not been shared with the public to date. I frankly cannot understand where he got his supposed 9-year figure for a debris stream.

As for being in a cave I wonder why he would jump-the-gun and hide on the 11th when he should know we won't pass thru Lee's orbital plane until Sept. Perhaps he figured the public would panic once they viewed Lee during the eclipse and he wanted to beat the rush. Well, he's lucky because the eclipse was obscured by clouds throughout much of Europe. Furthermore, the cameras, media, press et. al haven't paid any attention to the objects seen during the eclipse. It also doesn't help that with all the media in the world the only apparent video feed is from NASA and the BBC. It seems NASA and the BBC did some fancy editing because with each feed the bright spots were only displayed for a few seconds before the cameras were zoomed back on the totality. In the NASA video the spots are even absent from several frames. Bizarre.

Lee should become visible at dusk within a few days so no one will be needing NASA or the BBC's assistance to see what's coming.
