Re: they could be doomed, the MIPS chip does not seem to be a barnburner at this time. Maybe SGI will be sufficiently disillusioned with Intel to drive it to becoming an Athlon only company. If what you're looking for is "barnburner" floating point to support high end graphics.... SGI is great at optimizing code and drivers, they would be a real asset. Dan
