I lived with my grandmother for a year when she broke her hip (so long ago now- wow) I was the only one who could put up with her. She was one of my best friends.

She told me that there is a fine line between being mean, and being honest. But, as long as you are honest people will always know where they stand with you (even if their eye starts to twitch while you're speaking!!)

ps I still have a chip in my front tooth though where my sister threw a glass at me when I was a teenager!
