Fez,
Hi!!!

RE: I agree that China is DELL's ace-in-the-hole. I also think that expanded production facilities in Ireland, Brazil and TN will help catapult them further up and, more importantly, help them retain the same growth rate.

I agree with everything you say...only one "exception"...I believe the "same growth rate" is nebulous...Imagine what it will be if IBM throws the PC business to DELL? CPQ is bleeding profusely...Who's left?
Go figure that rate my friend.. :o)
Some things my dad and I have been throwing around:
1. DELL shares approved for a split
2. DELL would split perhaps between 90-110? (assume)
3. What are projected earnings for next year? :o)
4. What growth rate would DELL need to "move stock" to split level?
5. Now...Has DELL ever had us approve shares for a split when they could do it before another shareholders meeting?
6. Tennessee...IMO...Tooooo big toooo soon
7. NO way DELL grows at "projected earnings" and splits unless they do conquer the world in less than a year...Possible but come on...the PE would be astronomical..
8. I say that rumors are toooo numerous...and the no brainer for IBM is a deal that rids them of a $1 billion loss..I'd guess there are other commitments involved...I'm just being realistic here and keeping it simple...Some place IMO DELL expects to steal sooooo much share that this stock will double in a year...and thus...split...
9. Almost forgot...Kevin Rollins told the shareholders July 98 that DELL splits a. "When market conditions are ok"..
b. "When shares have been approved" c. "When we see revenue growth going forward"

I can dream huh? :o)

Best, Kemble
