I believe the top Temblor sand is a minimum of 4 miles long and 1 mile wide. (It might be much bigger. That's just the minimum size, per my calculations !!!)

With respect to reading material, I suggest that you contact "R. Barbe" here on S.I. He has developed a very good understanding of the oil industry and is, I believe, "self taught" by reading some obviously very good handbook which he has.
