Actually the theater does not get half... Since I have been writing software for a local theater, I was surprised to find out how little of the ticket they get. The deals vary picture to picture, and rarely get that high. The local theater that ran Star Wars this summer wound up paying for the privilege due to the high guarantees and percentages. 10 or 20 percent to the theater is probably closer to the norm.

There really is truth to it when they say that the concessions are what keep the doors open, not the tickets. One of the studios even tried to take a cut of the concessions a few years ago...

Still I would rather guess on the low side. If US brings in 100M then I would not expect MVEE to receive any more that 5M of that.
