Mornin' Craig. Good idea you had here!

Regarding Weinstein's book, you might want to also check out "How To Make the Stock Market Make Money For You" by Ted Warren. I found the book in a used bookstore in 1982. It was out of print for a long time, I think it might be back in print. I've seen numerous references to Stan's invention of the "accumulation, markup, distribution, markdown" thing but the truth is it's in Warren's book, which was published in 1966.

If you like Elder's book for the T.A., you might be interested in "The New Science of Technical Analysis" by Thomas R. DeMark. You should be able to fine tune whatever particular filter you like the best. I have found the DeMark book essential; the first chapter has some data on trend lines that is just killer.

DeMark also has a proprietary signal called "Sequential" in his book that looks on first glance like the goofiest thing you have ever seen...until you do some scans with it. You'll be surprised.

Anyone who is interested in Point and Figure charting should own the book by Tom Dorsey. Dorsey is the only person I've ever read that really outlines a workable system for limiting risk in his book.

People who are new to this might want to keep in mind that as a trader goes along, he learns to pay less attention to reward parameters and more attention to risk parameters.

[no, nobody is paying me to hype books, I just want to help people understand how to choose their own stocks]

Thanks for letting me butt in, good luck.

(Oh, and watch out for Rumble, he's out of control.)
