No one has a comment about the Journal article? Here are my comments then:

While informative, it did explore the possibility of whether their business model will work, which only makes sense in this kind of article. It mentioned 2 possible problems with the business model: 1. Maybe it is too broad--specific industry targeting may be the way to go and 2. What seems to actually be working in practice (it mentioned a competitor in Europe) is leveraging off of existing relationships--using the internet to enhance already established trade partners.

It fails to deliniate, IMO, the specific approach of PNLK in the following way:

1. PNLK appears to be taking a country-specific approach in its marketing by targeting entire countries through their governments, COC. Additionally, we have seen that they intend to customize their webtool for specific country needs. This is a critical point of deliniation IMO.

2. While it is a build it and they will come approach, their open-ended appoach gives them the flexibility to target those with no partners at all in addition to those with partners. WHich group do you think will ultimately be the largest group? There are tons of small-midsize companies that have no or few international partners currently, but will have them in the future. Will it end up being too broad? Only time will tell, but there are a lot of businesses that I would think would prefer the flexibility of the PNLK model.

As we already knew, it will take time to prove out the business model, but there are some exciting developments in the very near future.

Ted
