no, i don't have a problem with 'strong' women, as i was raised by one and married two (my first wife tragically passed away.) in fact i prefer their company if truth were known as they are extremely exciting to be around because there is never a dull moment. and at my age, dull and acquiescent is just one step away from the grave. :)
there is a large difference between strength and jealous ingenue. si threads are public forums not private sorority sister enclaves of only the thread origiators.
i don't happen to think that lavishly spending money is a particularly womanly strength. i don't happen to think that what some female formerly did before escaping to oregon is particularly germane to y2k preparations or discussions of the impact on the stock market.
i do find women such as c.k. houston portrays herself on this thread to be strangely lacking in internally generated self-esteem. they seem to require imputed or imparted 'energy' from others in order to function minimally at all.
and if i was so afraid of strong women like you postulate, then why did i stick up for edwarda's right to appear suddenly here, by accident or design, and her write to freedom of speech, which, most likely will differ from mine.

an ole crusty s.o.b. stood up and challenged him, right there in the public council meeting and reminded him that he helped dig 60+ years prior the lagoon which was over 75' above the 'gravity feed sewer labryinth of pipe for this small town to collect their collective shit, asswipe and greywater. he then wanted to know just what mr city engineer planned to use to power the lift stations, also known as 24/7/365 sewage pumps into that lagoon.
the rest of the city council members turned to their beleagured colleague only to hear him utter, "christ, i hadn't thought of that!"
and sit down. you could have heard a pin drop.
well, i for one am not going to wait until the sewage backs up on this thread to point out there is a relationship between input and output, especially beTWEEN two strong women.
it is my opinion that until and unless more of us males with backbone stand up and are heard about what is right when the girlies and the 'strong women' get to going after it, we deserve what we get in the way of pre-digested chicken feed.

i used the frontal approach, the gestalt method if you please. maybe if the hens or roosters don't get the funny approach, maybe plain talk will get through to at least the attacking hen!
otherwise, we all have to put up with backed up shit and empty lagoons where we once had a different set of choices because we put our collective heads together and didn't assume 'consultant/engineer' had it all figured out and we could 'move onto the next council agenda item.'
