I'm curious what you mean, Ian. Are you referring to the manufacturers now requiring fewer man-hours to assemble the products (as AMAT indicated in its recent cc), or something else?

It was my understanding that regardless of the number of man-hours going into assembly, the manufacturers do best in reducing their costs if they have long lead-times, so that they can schedule and allocate their resources most efficiently.
