We have been residents of Kauai for 13 years, after moving from Toronto. You will fall in love with the island - it is truly Paradise. However, four days are hardly enough to take in all of its beauty. Incidentally - do NOT go there for "night life" - the island closes up at about 9:30 - 10:00pm. We live in Poipu, and suggest that you consider a two br condo - for which you might contact ASTON (on the 'net) for accomodations. They are wonderful to deal with! (and HONEST!)
