Jeff,

I am still researching the permits on the gold mine. It is a little difficult since the company has not stated exactly where the mine and the mill are located. They appear to be in section 21 & 22 and possibly 28. Both of these sections have complicatons. The BLM controls the mineral rights in parts of these sections and the state in other parts. The state appears to control all of the surface rights. The guy at state lands told me that if the company wants to develop any type of mining operation on land where the surface is controlled by the state they will have to follow the state permitting process. So far, no one has initiated this process. However, there is some private land in the vicinity, section 22. If they locate their mill on private land then they fall under another state division for permitting. I bleive that this permitting is through the state mine inspector's office. Quite a few of these state employees are taking vacation so it might be a week or so before I can track them all down.
