I agree with this posting. Unfortunately, I can't find my own recent posting on the subject, which pointed out that sheer demographics suggest that we are dealing with a Ponzi scheme and that Social Security was originally designed merely as a safety net, not a serious source of retirement income. It was, I believe, in an exchange with Christopher.
