I'm not surprised Mitsubishi is up. Dai Ichi Kangyo and IBJ were both barely solvent. I can only assume Fuji was in the same shaky condition. Barely solvent banks make desperate low margin loans.

If the combo of the three can lower costs, their loans may become expensive, more normally priced, more selective, making things better for Mitsubishi - not to mention US and European banks.
