I visit Sacramento annually on Memorial Day weekend to attend the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee. This year I noticed that they were putting the finishing touches on the new Esquire Imax Theater on K Street. Glad to hear that they are doing so well. I really like Sacramento, but they sure have a problem in the downtown area with homeless people, and the city will have to address that issue at some point.
Anyway, after being out of Imax for several months, I am buying back in, as I think things are finally looking up. The stock is a good value at this price, if earnings estimates prove accurate. I believe that with Disney's Fantasia, and James Cameron's "Destination Mars" in the works, more of the big boys will start to dip their toes in the water. More theaters, more films - at some point a critical mass will be reached, and things should take off. There are also signs that some theater owners are finally willing to share more of the gross with the moviemakers.
