Rude: This is one of the reasons Eckhart isn't with us any more. The overall reason to have acquired dec was to gain access to the sales force which has BIG connections (read established relationships) with major installations, not to reinvent the wheel (read not put CPQ in the hardware manufacturing business). Remember that during the acquisition, CPQ got DEC, but INTC got the alpha fab. Closing that lab will save approximately 36MM per year or circa 2.5 cents per share. (my wa guess) Alpha is a unix/linux box. Tru64, SR6, Linux is good enough to keep present dec clients happy. RIP, if you catch my drift. Duke (JMWAO)
