My supposition is that Sega, with Dreamcast, will be the first to impart 'intelligence' to the console. Lots can be done with 'intelligence'. All three consoles could indicate a way where Microsoft/Intel dominance could be eroded.

This is not just a battle between rival video games providers. It could graduate into a major issue. Sega, Sony and Nintendo are aware of this and this is why (I believe) Nintendo waited in the bulrushes behind Sega and Sony.

Farfetched? Probably. But this is no longer an issue of kid video games.
