Gerald: VCD's are usually in mpeg format. I know that there are mpeg players for Linux, so I would assume that VCD's could be played in Linux. USB will be supported in Kernel 2.4, according to Mr. Torvalds. I have a friend who is a hardcore VCD trader with his cable modem connection...and Windows (unfortunately) <g> Edit: according to my friend, an mpeg player will play VCD's, but a VCD Player provides better quality, and there is a lot of development going on for a VCD Player BTW, if anyone is looking for a great Text editor for Linux (and it is ported to Windows too), I recommend AbiWord (though it is still pretty beta). Web site is abisource.com (free software). Intuitively similar to MS Word, which I didn't find in Applixware's editor. Justin
