According to the reports, the Socket 370 part will be aimed at the low end of the market. Samples have already been sent to a number of Taiwanese motherboard companies for evaluation and volume production will start in six weeks. Just last week, NatSemi fired 180 Cyrix staff, prompted by Via amidst fears that the entire future of the Gobi and Mojave projects were in jeopardy. Our understanding remains that the M3 has been consigned to oblivion. ©
