In his weekly Net wrap-up, Keith Benjamin, another Internet analyst at BancBoston Robertson Stephens, told investors to be "ready, aim" and then "buy."

Benjamin highlighted the recent Media Metrix shopping report that showed online shopping activity in July was surprisingly robust despite expectations of a summer slowdown. "We view the continued momentum of online shopping as extremely positive and another indication of a potentially huge online holiday shopping season to come."

Recall that earlier this week, Henry Blodget, Internet analyst at Merrill Lynch upgraded his outlook on the Internet sector as the market "moves out of the summer doldrums and investors begin to focus on Q4 seasonal strength in the three major B2C value-drivers: traffic, advertising, and commerce." Jupiter Communications also came out with a bullish report on Web advertising that said: "consider this growth a wake-up call."
