My wife also works in the TV industry, on the business development side. She feels fairly comfortable with the anology between TV and internet, especially with the rollout of cable internet and interactive TV in HK these days.

AOL has risks that Yahoo! does not, namely AOL has a big physical infrastructure that requires a big monthly stipend to pay for. Yahoo! is all cyber. Lot faster for Yahoo to do deals and expand than it would AOL. Yahoo!, by any measure, is already an international play, AOL is a johnny come lately in most markets except the US.

Yahoo! has more powerful friends, and AOL has more powerful enemies.

But, having said all that, I hold AOL as well, atleast until Christmas.

I believe ML's Christmas Basket theory of i-net share price before ML verbalized it.
