To Dancelot and All: Here's a summary of my Qualcomm covered call play; may it serve as a lesson to all of us:

7/26: Sold to open aawhm* covered calls at 4/sh. (qcom was at 154 1/2)

8/20: Bought to cover aawhm* at 8 1/2 sh (qcom was at 172 5/8)

Net result: based on its closing price of 175, qcom increased by 20 1/2 points during this period, but I only enjoyed 16 points net appreciation.

Conclusion: I will hold qcom and add to it on dips, but will never again try to time it. It was a pretty cheap price for a very important lesson.

Frank

*aawhm = August 165 strike price calls
