All the articles I have seen major on sellers turning against EBAY. But EBAY's success is based on its BUYER population. The sellers know that and so, while complaining about the increased costs, the majority will stay with EBAY. What is 1$ more commission when you can get a 10$ higher bid by selling on EBAY? EBAY's move will be applauded by the buyers who will get an enhanced auction experience with EBAY. This will in turn attract more sellers, increase the auction counts and boost EBAY's share price.
