Ericsson tests 3G radio services
STOCKHOLM?The Ginger Media Group, owners of U.K.-based Virgin Radio, is collaborating with L.M. Ericsson in early trials of wireless third-generation technology that would allow local or national radio stations to reach global audiences, said Ericsson.
Ericsson?s concept is to allow anyone, anywhere in the world to tune in to Virgin Radio programs using wireless Internet terminals. These terminals would allow users to simultaneously surf the Internet, send and receive video material, watch Web TV, videoconference, play interactive multimedia games and select entertainment sources.

Ericsson and Ginger have added Virgin Radio material to the range of services Ericsson is trialing at its 3G network in the United Kingdom.
