Art,

Do we know whether Fujitsu is going to supply SmartMedia or Compact Flash cards?

The article referred to Fujitsu making (typically non-removable) flash memory chips not flash memory card assemblies. The importance of this distinction is that a lot of electronic products (such as digicams) hold the operating instructions for their cpu in flash memory that is soldered to the main logic board. This enables the program to be updated relatively painlessly. The most common example of this for most people is bios upgrades for pcs and laptops. The reference to AMD as the largest maker of such products is a further indication that they are talking about non-removable chips not removable cards.
