Penni, please forgive me, but you are not one step closer to the grave because your older child is going to college. We, all of us, are a day older every day, no more, no less.
Sorry if you feel that you have no purpose anymore, I don't believe it's true, it's just that you are going through changes. You aren't a child anymore, nor a young maiden, nor a young mother, either. But you are far from an old woman, and you are far, far from death. You are a young matron, you are in the late August, early September of your life. The bloom is still on the rose, even if it's a little blown.
And, your children are not moving on without you. They are moving out of the nest, but they are still fledglings.
Your fears are normal, but they aren't the truth. The truth is that you are still young, and strong, and your family still needs you. And you are entering one of the most fruitful periods of a woman's life. Trust me. It's true.
Hugs and kisses. I love you. |
