Industry analysts and other pundits know that Internet content delivery is a much needed service. Here are some of their opinions regarding why Akamai's FreeFlow service is making the Web a better place to do business.

Forrester Research's Ted Julian believes that Akamai is onto something. "Until now, nobody has figured out how to scale for the biggest web events. They are easily one of the hottest companies in this area. They're like FedEx for web pages. Why do people use FedEx? It's a huge network known for its reliability. All Akamai needs is the rack space to build out their network and they can get that anywhere" said Julian as quoted in the Boston Business Journal, April 19, 1999.

Forrester analyst Brendan Hannigan concurred in the Wall Street Journal saying "It's a very real problem that they're addressing and it certainly would be attractive to the busiest and most attractive sites on the Internet." April 7, 1999

The April issue of Datacom Startup Times said "we can't think of any downside to Akamai's service and the expect that many sites will embrace the outsourcing of their content distribution."
