Hello Alan: Thank you very much for your thoughtful discussion of the "goldbug" criteria, which I presented. According to your definition as "someone fascinated by the history of precious metals, perhaps a coin-collector, or mineral/rock collector, or someone interested in geology or mining and who invests accordingly" I am indeed a goldbug --- although I have never considered myself as such! Like you, but possibly to a lesser extent, I am also an individualist and have always striven for independence in every way. To the extent, I might add, I am also mistrustful of the financial system although I don't believe there is a conspiracy. Of course, there is no shortage of rogues. So there we have it. Each person sees the world through his own eyes and interprets it accordingly. I wish I could remember that story about seven blindfolded fellows who felt an elephant and described their impressions, each completely differently. I am sorry to learn that you are a transplant patient and I wish you good luck and the best of health. Regards Searle
