Hey everybody ... there was a great effort on SI to help the Kosovo refugees, and I hope everyone is doing a bit to help out with the crisis in Turkey as well. I managed a travel agency for years, and the trip my husband and I took to Turkey was the most enjoyable vacation I can remember. Amazing scenery, amazing food, and the highlight of the trip was most definitely the people. They were incredibly warm and friendly. This tragedy defies imagination. A friend of mine talked to a woman who has a fabric factory in the area that was hit, and she said that locally people fear the death toll is much higher then they are guessing, and they just can't get to everyone fast enough to help them. I hope some of you will take a moment to donate online to the Red Cross. Maybe you've been meaning to, but haven't taken the time yet. They allow secure online donations.
