For me it is not merely a stylistic disaffection. He is unusually politically vindictive; he takes credit for a period of prosperity for many New Yorkers that has to do with the stock market rather than anything his administration has accomplished; he is more than high-strung--the man has actually been seen throwing temper tantrums on the floor, kicking and screaming like a two-year-old; his lust for self-aggrandizement and power are terrifying, particularly to those of us who remember his antics regarding people in the securities industry, dragging them out of their offices in handcuffs. (Most people seem to have forgotten that his success ratio in obtaining convictions was abysmal for lack of evidence, but he destroyed careers in the process of raising his own profile.)
