Hello Don: It has been a while since we've used this board. But I was tickled to see that the Longacres Mile is being run tomorrow at Grade 3 and 250K. It brought back fond memories of when I was attending the UofW on the GI bill and went to Longacres (now Emerald Downs) for the Mile. I think it was 1951 and there was a Canadian shipper called Little Rollo at 30-1. I couldn't afford it but I put $2 across the board and $4 to win on him. Little Rollo won and my winnings equalled three months of my GI allowance. It had such an effect on me that ever since I've always looked at Canadian shippers closely when doping a race.race. Probably has cost me more since than I won that day--looking for another Little Rollo. I lost my horse in July in a $75K claimer at Belmont. Now looking for another, perhaps with Dogwood Stable which is a pretty good syndicator. Best regards.
