It's getting to be such universal news that there will be a relief rally after the FOMC news that I am wondering if it really will appear. Relief from what? There hasn't been a big downturn, just wash and rinse... I am beginning to wonder if the recent rebound has priced in the relief rally and it will be sell on the news. This is a very different market from last meeting. Not really oversold...

Of course, there may be relief. Everyone may dance and celebrate the death of the inflation demon. I think it may be very short-lived. Remember AG is looking at equity inflation not just CPI/PPI.

Speaking of timeframes. Rande, that shortcut to the Natwest analyst... biz.yahoo.com. That 35-45 day prediction was awfully specific. 35 days from 8/19 is 9/23. October is probably not a very pleasant month for such a thing... Anyway, where can you rotate to deal with this except cash. I can't imagine that the raw materials we have been using as shelter, i.e. oil, metals, will be bullish on this news...
