I've been scanning this thread and the RB thread some the past day rather like a person standing on the side of the road watching a fatal car crash take place.

The level of denial and desperate hope on both is amazing. Lots of talk about "the dream". What was "the dream"? To get rich without doing anything for it, I suppose. People throwing their money away buying pieces of the Hindenberg midway through its plummet to earth and finding themselves down nearly 50% within hours. Pathetic tales of people gambling money they can't afford to lose. People denying that they have a position in the stock, yet reacting emotionally and irrationally at the slightest indication of anything negative.

Fascinating study. When I first came onto SI, I read the Bre-x thread for the same reason, trying to understand the mindset of people who would invest in it in the first place and hold on in the face of clear technical and fundamental clues that something is terribly wrong.

Great short call, Anthony and others, despite all the emotional ravings by those who were sucked into this scam and refused to exit while they could with some semblance of profit or their original investment. I wish I'd known about it because I'd have shorted it too.
