Eims: I don't disagree with anything you've said in your last post, but I'd like to put a cap on my thoughts and then head for a Manhattan-on-the-rocks, my usual nightcap.
I never had any problem with the businesses of Starnet, but I can understand those that do. People in both businesses are, certainly, no angels, or they would not have gotten into it in the first place.
My problem stems from the way this all came about. I truly believe that someone, maybe even someone on this thread, either contributed to the investigation or learned proprietary (dare I say, illegal) information about what was going on. Although they may or may not have hinted at what was in the works so that all of us could do our own investigation (as if most of us have the resources to do so), they certainly positioned themselves to benefit from the inevitable fall.
Then, they claim to have taken what they would like us to believe is the moral high ground, saying it was all in the name of cleaning up the world from the scum that would purvey pornography or gambling.
I say that's a lot of crapola! They did it for one reason and one reason only-----M O N E Y!
So, Starnet has fallen. No trial, no charges. Nothing but accusations, so far, in what may be a politically motivated vendetta. We won't know for some time; but we DO know it's hurt a lot of innocent people.
I'm still in the black on Starnet, but probably won't be soon. My broker doesn't work that fast, even if I tried to bail. I'm not bitter. It's not my food money.
I'd just like those involved to finally admit that they're in it for the money, stop claiming some moral high ground, and start acting like real gentlemen when they win. After all, they may lose the next one.
Thanks for listening. It's been fascinating to this ol' boy. You all have yourself a good evening. IT'S FINALLY RAINING!! |
