How the heck do you expect to know for sure?
Maybe the pilot, having taken a memory-enhancing drug, as pilots were often given during WWII, was hallucinating! Perhaps prior to that hallucination, he had seen some images similar to what he saw in the sky ahead of him.
In a lighter vein, maybe it might be speculated that the pilot, in a prior incarnation, was familar with spacecraft of the kind depicted by the glyphs at Abydos. And maybe in the heat of battle and aided by whatever drugs he had taken, his subconscious mind connected with those spacecraft images of the past. Or maybe there was a rift in the space-time continuum that temporarily returned him to his former past.
Now I have something for you to ponder about. A elderly man for whom I have great respect told me of a rather unusual experience he has had some 35 years ago somewhere in the Himalayas. He said,
"We trekked from base camp through difficult and treacherous terrain to pay our respects to the Venerable Abbott "XYZ" (sorry, I forgot his name). We started at 8 AM and we reached the lamasery at about noon. After lunch and a brief rest period, we met with the Abbot and his disciples who showed us around. The Abbot told us he knew we were coming and he had instructed his disciples to prepare yak tea for us. Then we had a discussion on metaphysical subjects with the Abbot and we were so engrossed that we lost track of time. Then, all of a sudden, I realised it was getting dark and I expressed regret we would not be able to return safely to base camp because of the encroaching darkness. The Abbot very kindly invited us to stay for the night. But I told him we were on a tight schedule and would have to be back at base camp that very night.
The Abbot then smiled an enigmatic smile and waved his outstretched hands over me and my travel companions while intoning a few words rather inaudibly. And what a surprise of surprises! O Holy Moses! Holy Christ! Holy Tabernacle! Suddenly we were all in a blur and, in the next instant, we were safely back at base camp! Needless to say, that was an indelible experience for us all."
Now, how do you explain this case of "teleportation"?
I have more for you next time. |
