Roy,

It's not a question of 'if' access will be free, it's a question of 'when' access will be free.

The long term micro and macro evolution of global economies, assuming global economic consolidation - which BTW I do, will be the result of greater efficiencies. Ubiquitous access to the Internet(in essence the facilitation of communication)will fuel global economic consolidation and global efficiencies. In theory, it could be similar to communism.....surplus of surplus.

Granted, the above assumption is dependent upon non-exising rules but can be easily envisioned. The Internet has already been the catalyst for greater efficiencies in our own economy and the value of these efficiencies are pushing the concept of free access. Relatively speaking, the potential gain in US economic advancement from free access is dwarfed by the potential gain for underdeveloped countries.

It's only a matter of time.
