China will be the major player on the world markets in 2000 and beyond. They have entered Africa and Latin America in countries and projects unattractive to North American and European companies and don't mind using political influence like in Kuwait. They are not looking for a quick buck and have long term goals. The biggest investor in China itself is not Japan or the United States but overseas chinese.
