Y2K on a scale of 0 (nil) to 10 (catastrophic)

Karen,

IMHO, based on everything that I have read, one could make a serious case for a Y2K severity of 2 to 8 on as scale of 10. There is just too many programs being modified and too many critical countries (ie Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, etc) to make a case less than 2 and too much progress has been made to make a case higher than 8.

Where exactly would you (and others) rate the severity?

For what it's worth, my rating is between 5 and 6.

John

PS - Let's all stop the polly and doomer terminology ... It is counter-productive to reaching understanding of the problem.
