I'm still wondering if copper will be particularly helpful for a processor that consumes a lot of power at very low voltage. Is there any sense to the notion that the Pentium and K6 cores would benefit more from a shrink than Athlon will, while Athlon will get more of a benefit from copper than the other two?

I believe that AMD's strategy for next spring is .18 Al K6 at FAB25, and .18 Cu Athlon at FAB 30. I'm wondering if there are technical reasons for this or if that arrangement is just convenient.
